NAPIA GOALS AND MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

NAPIA’s primary goal is educational – to help its members stay well informed on the factors and trends that affect the petroleum industry and its investment prospects so that investors in petroleum and related industries can make sound investment decisions based on the most current information and first hand knowledge. NAPIA strives to accomplish this primary goal mainly through organizing and sponsoring semi-annual conferences and related field trips, and/or educational seminars, on topics and in areas of the world, of current industry interest. NAPIA conference are unique in that they bring together both the ‘buy’ side and the ‘sell’ side of the investment industry, as well as corporate representatives and senior management from the petroleum industry in a professional, educational, collegial environment. Because NAPIA members represent a significant portion of the invested capital in the major financial markets of the world, and our members play an important role in allocating capital to the worldwide petroleum industry, NAPIA is able to attract top management, and leading industry experts as presenters to their conference programs. As a non-profit organization, NAPIA offers a conference fee structure among the most economical in the conference industry, particularly in relation to the quality and scope of its programs.

NAPIA programs and activities are of benefit and interest to those experienced in finance and the petroleum industry, but also, and perhaps most importantly, to those who are new to petroleum investment analysis. This is particularly true for those analysts who follow   petroleum as only one of several industry groups they may be responsible for. The exposure and interaction opportunities with fellow analysts, and industry management, is unique. The seminars and conferences with top level industry and consultant speakers, and exceptional field trips, are opportunities to stay on top of your industry in a time effective manner.

At most NAPIA conferences, participating petroleum and oil service companies host breakfast tables each day of the conference providing attendees with an informal and time efficient means of  keeping current with the activities of  companies of interest.

NAPIA provides its members with complimentary subscriptions to key petroleum investment publications, web seminars, and invitations to special energy investment meetings either free or at the member rate of our affiliated organizations.

Other goals of NAPIA include; 1) Interaction – NAPIA encourages an active interchange of ideas and information between analysts, petroleum industry corporate executives, investor relations representatives, consultants, and other industry experts at Association conferences and educational seminars. In addition, NAPIA maintains strategic relationships with other professional organizations with shared professional interests;    2) Directory – NAPIA publishes an annual Directory of its membership, regarded as the 'Who's Who' of the petroleum investment universe; 3) Employment NAPIA maintains a listing of petroleum analyst positions available, and a  listing of those seeking employment in petroleum investment; and 4) Professional Recognition – NAPIA members are recognized and respected as professionals in their field, and NAPIA organizes recognition for distinguished PIRA members for awards in excellence in investor relations and corporate reporting.
